This film examines violence against women in Pakistan, and the role of culture in perpetuating violence against women. It focuses on women’s education in rural areas of Pakistan.
The film reveals the circumstances of a village of Punjab, Thathi Bhanguan. A decade ago, no girl in the village was allowed to get an education, but today every girl there goes to school. This film tells the story of how one woman, along with other women in the village, made a stand and and continues to struggle for their rights, having succeeded in changing people’s minds and perceptions by going door to door.
