Mansura was the first Sindhi Muslim capital from 711 AD to 1006 AD. The city was founded by the Umayyad forces in Sindh and transformed into a vibrant metropolis during the Abbasid Era. Archaeology, heritage and history are much contested, sensitive issues in Pakistan. Pakistan has many significant heritage sites with not only Muslim, but Buddhist, Hindu, and Sikh traditions. This film presents a powerful discussion on the importance of preserving Pakistan’s heritage by some of Pakistan’s leading academics and practitioners in the field, as well as the history surrounding Mansura.
