The Pakistan Thalassaemia Treatment Centre

Many young people in Pakistan suffer from Thalassaemia, an inherited condition affecting the blood. The Thalassaemia Welfare Centre has gradually expanded to offer treatment to 800 patients a year, highlighting the importance of their work. This film interviews young sufferers, touching on the prejudices and fears faced by these people due to a lack of investment in public health provision and education.

The Pakistan Thalassaemia Treatment Centre in Rawalpindi also has strong links with communities in Britain. For more information on both Thalassaemia and the work of the Pakistan Thalassaemia Treatment Centre please visit the website.
